About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Setter to join our client’s dynamic production team in Cape Town City Centre. This role involves ensuring production equipment operates efficiently and quality standards are consistently maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, troubleshoot, and rectify technical issues on production equipment (machines, moulds, etc.).
- Develop, set, and document machine settings for each production run.
- Conduct fault analysis and independently resolve issues related to product quality, processing, moulds, or equipment malfunction.
- Develop and follow maintenance plans; coordinate maintenance with internal teams and service suppliers.
- Identify spare parts requirements, maintain inventory awareness, and assist in sourcing decisions.
- Collaborate with Quality Control, Production, and Maintenance teams to maintain high production standards.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, GMP, and Food Safety standards.
- Maintain accurate reporting and documentation of jobs performed, defects, and maintenance activities.
Requirements
- Education: Grade 12 (Secondary Education) minimum; Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in a manufacturing environment, including injection blow/stretch blow moulding processes.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Sound understanding of technical drawings and equipment installation
- Ability to act decisively under pressure with high emotional intelligence
- Knowledge of Health & Safety and safe working procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications: Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
