About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on, adaptable, and forward-thinking Finance Manager to join our small but growing team in Stellenbosch. As a CIMA professional (or someone nearing completion), you will step into a Finance Manager/Acting CFO role and build financial controls, reporting structures, and strategic finance capabilities from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the full finance function including management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and stakeholder reporting
- Report directly to the CEO and play a key role in financial strategy and day-to-day financial operations
- Manage a business committed to driving sustainability and clean energy solutions
Requirements
- CIMA qualification strongly preferred (or currently studying towards completion)
- 8+ years of experience in accounting, management accounting, or financial oversight roles
- Strong understanding of budgeting, cashflow, and cost management in a fast-paced environment
- Startup mindset comfortable with ambiguity, hands-on work, and scaling systems
- Preference for candidates outside of audit-heavy backgrounds (e.g., not traditional CA(SA)/SAICA articles)
- Open to all ages and genders; female candidates preferred due to grant KPI requirements
- Prior industry exposure in energy, petroleum, sustainability, or environmental sectors is beneficial, but not required
