About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Project Developer to join our team in Cape Town, South Africa. As a key member of our renewable energy projects, you will be responsible for leading the development of solar energy projects from concept to completion, including site selection, permitting, design, financing, and construction. With a strong background in project management, feasibility studies, and financial modeling, you will play a critical role in driving the growth and success of our company.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of solar energy projects from concept to completion
- Conduct feasibility studies and financial analysis to assess the viability of projects
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including landowners, regulatory agencies, financial institutions, and contractors
- Prepare and submit project proposals, budgets, and schedules
- Manage project timelines and budgets to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
- Oversee construction and commissioning activities to ensure compliance with project specifications and local regulations
- Monitor and report on project progress, including coordinating with internal and external partners
- Stay informed on the latest industry trends and technologies in renewable energy to inform project development decisions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical, Mechanical or Renewable Energy
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in renewable energy projects, specifically in solar energy
- Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Knowledge of the local regulatory environment and permitting processes related to renewable energy projects
- Experience in conducting feasibility studies and financial modeling for renewable energy projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical, Mechanical or Renewable Energy
