About the Role
As a Field Service Technician – Maritime Cranes, you will be responsible for providing worldwide maintenance and service support for Unique Personnel Ltd’s range of products and services. You will travel extensively on short notice, applying electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical theory to test and modify equipment. Your excellent communication skills and positive attitude will enable you to work effectively with customers, colleagues, and management.
Key Responsibilities
- Provision of on-site support for planned and emergency repairs
- Operate machines for testing, inspection, diagnosis, and troubleshooting
- Test products and equipment after repair or modification to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturer specifications
- Repair and replace damaged or worn parts with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) spares and OEM-repaired parts
- Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance work on company machines
- Examine parts for damage or excessive wear using relevant measuring devices
- Read, understand, and interpret operating manuals, parts manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency and safe integrity of the machine
- Inspect and verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to factory specifications
- Promote a safe work environment by following on-site safety rules and ensuring the group and self-follow established safety procedures
- Handle and dispose of hazardous wastes, such as toner, oil, antifreeze, transmission fluid, auto parts cleaner, and similar materials
- Complete factory-authorized training and demonstrate working knowledge of company Service Software (i.e., Codesys and Crane Management software)
- Prepare for jobs by checking parts and documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Maintain a minimum set of tools and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required for job performance
Requirements
- Matric
- Auto Electrician/Millwright certification preferred
- Minimum 3-4 years of field service, auto electrical experience on Maritime Cranes
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
