Job Description

Job Title: Shift Technician Department: Operations Report To: Engineering Manager Job Purpose To provide essential support to the Engineering Manager by performing routine maintenance tasks, assisting with repairs, and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all machinery and equipment within the beverage packaging facility. This role contributes directly to minimizing downtime and maintaining a safe working environment. Performance Area Objectives Actions Preventative Maintenance ● Ensure all equipment receives timely preventative maintenance according to schedule. ● Conduct routine inspections of machinery and equipment, identifying potential issues. ● Perform basic maintenance tasks such as lubrication, cleaning, and filter changes. ● Accurately document all preventative maintenance activities and report any deviations or concerns to the Engineering Manager ● Assist Engineering Manager with more complex preventative maintenance procedures Reactive Maintenance Support ● Minimize equipment downtime by providing efficient and effective support during breakdowns and repairs ● Assist Engineering Manager in diagnosing equipment malfunctions. ● Fetch necessary tools, parts, and materials for repair work. ● Perform basic repair tasks under supervision, such as replacing belts, hoses, or minor components. ● Ensure work areas are clean and safe after completing repairs. ● Report completed repairs and any unresolved issues to the Engineering Manager. Facility Maintenance: ● Maintain a safe, clean, and functional facility environment. ● Perform general maintenance tasks such as basic plumbing repairs, painting, and minor building upkeep. ● Ensure all walkways and work areas are free from obstructions and hazards. ● Assist with the setup and dismantling of equipment or workspaces as needed. ● Report any facility-related maintenance needs or safety concerns to the Engineering Manager. Inventory and Parts Management ● Assist in maintaining an organized and sufficient inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies. ● Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing maintenance parts and supplies ● Conduct periodic inventory checks as directed. ● Notify the Engineering Manager of low stock levels. ● Ensure proper labeling and identification of all stored items. Safety and Compliance ● Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment ● Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. ● Identify and report any unsafe conditions or practices immediately. ● Participate in safety training sessions as required. ● Assist in maintaining safety equipment and ensuring its proper functionality.
