About the Role
S3 Team Lead (Manager) Projects, Automation & Cloud Delivery role at Ello Technology (Pty) Ltd is a leadership position that requires delivering projects cleanly, reducing rework, and driving measurable outcomes to create real client value and commercial impact.
Key Responsibilities
### Project Delivery Leadership (Core)
- Own the S3 project pipeline: prioritisation, resource planning, delivery cadence
- Ensure every project has: scope, plan, timeline, risks, comms plan, sign-off criteria
- Drive weekly project reviews and unblock delivery
- Ensure change control and rollback planning for risky work
- Manage stakeholder expectations and client communication standards
### Scoping and Handoff Discipline (Core)
- Produce clean technical scope and BOMs (no ambiguity)
- Ensure scope is approved before work begins
- Prevent scope creep by enforcing change requests and approvals
- Deliver crisp handoffs to BU Sales Consultant for quote procurement invoicing
### Automation and Cloud Delivery (Core)
- Own cloud and automation standards (templates, naming, permissions, security)
- Ensure automations are reliable, monitored where needed, and documented
- Ensure client adoption: training, guides, handover, success criteria
- Track and report outcomes (time saved, reduced manual work, improved process)
### Quality Assurance and Documentation (Non-Negotiable)
- Build/maintain SOPs for recurring project types and automations
- Implement QA gates: peer review, testing, sign-off checklists
- Ensure documentation is complete before project closure
- Build and maintain reusable project templates and runbooks
### People Leadership
- Set clear roles, ownership, and expectations for S3 team members
- Run weekly 1:1s and performance development plans
- Coach delivery discipline, documentation habits, and client comms
- Hire/interview input where needed
### Cross-BU Collaboration (Decentralised Command)
- Coordinate with S1/S2 on dependencies and handovers
- Ensure S3 work does not break operations (handover discipline)
- Work with embedded BU Sales Consultant to ensure commercial execution is clean

- Projects delivered on time (%)
- Projects delivered on scope (%)
- Rework rate (post-project tickets/incidents attributable to delivery)
- Change failure rate (changes causing incidents)
- Project cycle time (scope delivery sign-off)
#### Quality & Documentation
- Documentation completeness score (runbooks, diagrams, configs, user guides)
- SOP compliance audit score
- QA pass rate (peer review/testing/checklists)
- Client sign-off rate without rework
#### Automation Outcomes
- Automations shipped per month (by priority)
- Adoption completed (%) with training/handover
- Measurable impact reported (hours saved, process steps removed)
#### Commercial / Billable Capture
- Scope/BOM handoff quality score to BU Sales Consultant
- Missed billing incidents due to poor scope/handoff (target: 0)
- Invoicing accuracy and timeliness

- Audit active projects, overdue items, and top rework causes

- Quick wins: clean up the worst project risks and unblock delivery

- Build S3 playbook for repeatable project types
#### Deliverables by Day 90
- Predictable delivery engine with measurable improvements
