About the Role
The Stores Assistant role is an internal customer service position within SA Metal, operating at our Airport Industry facility in Cape Town. The successful candidate will ensure that all internal requests are issued timeously and assist with various store-related duties to support the smooth operation of our stores.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all daily store tasks are completed on time
- Assist with processing daily stock orders
- Assist the Storeman and Stores Coordinator with completing inventory cycle counts on stock items
- Assist with conducting inventory stock take when required
- Do inventory cycle counts
- Off-loading of all incoming material
- Offloading of stock deliveries by suppliers
- Checking of deliveries against delivery notes
- Receipting of deliveries
- Maintain minimum and maximum stock quantities
- Adhere to Health and Safety regulations
- General Housekeeping
- Any other stores-related duties as requested
Requirements
- Grade 12 preferably with Mathematics
- Experience in a Stores environment
- Computer proficiency; packages required: MS Word, Excel
- Ability to work under pressure without supervision
- Be prepared to work after-hours, including weekends
- Fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans, Xhosa would be an added advantage
- High administration skills
- Forklift licence is an advantage

Qualifications
- Grade 12 with Mathematics (if no degree mentioned)
- Experience in a Stores environment
Salary & Benefits
