About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team, leading and mentoring a team of mechanical engineers and draughtsmen in the design and development of process plant equipment, including piping systems, heat exchangers, and pressure vessels.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers and draughtsmen.
- Design and oversee the development of mechanical equipment for process plants, including piping systems, heat exchangers, and pressure vessels.
- Manage all phases of mechanical projects, including planning, concept design, detailed design, manufacturing, quality control, installation, commissioning, and handover.
- Develop and review 3D models and detailed design concepts, including process plant layouts.
- Interpret and analyse equipment datasheets, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Solve complex engineering challenges using modern analysis and simulation software.
- Review fabrication packages for pressure equipment and piping systems.
- Prepare detailed piping and valve specifications.
- Provide mechanical input for process equipment datasheets.
- Review and evaluate vendor equipment datasheets and drawings.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless design integration across projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical design for process plants.
- Proven experience leading large, multidisciplinary projects.
- Proficiency in 3D design and engineering software, including Autodesk Inventor and Plant 3D.
- Experience with piping and pressure vessel design software such as CAEPIPE, CAESAR II, and PV-Elite is highly desirable.
Qualifications
Registration as a Professional Engineer (ECSA) or working towards registration is advantageous.
