Position Overview
Performing testing on changes, fixes or new projects and features in VeriClaim to ensure that users will not be negatively influenced when upgraded to production.
The Software Tester is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and functionality of VeriClaim through structured testing processes. The role involves designing, executing, and documenting test cases, identifying defects, and collaborating with development teams to ensure that software solutions meet functional requirements before release.

Essential Job Functions
Manual testing of website or mobile application
Design, review and execute test plan, test cases and test scripts based on functional and technical specifications
Perform functional, regression, integration and user acceptance testing
Identify, document and track defects
Reporting and driving defect issue resolution
Reporting on test progress, risks and issues
Identify & report risks associated with upgrade of tickets tested
Completing testing within expected timelines
Participate in compiling and reviewing of testing documentation
Planning, conducting, and reporting back on group test workshops Ensure software meets business requirements, usability standards, and quality benchmark.
Ensure traceability between requirements and test cases
In-service training for Head of Departments including the Training department before going live with changes (where required)
Compiling Quick Reference Guides (where required)
Work closely with Developers, Business Analysists and Product Owners to understand system requirements and expected outcomes.
Skills & Functional requirements:
2 5 years of experience in software testing or quality assurance
ISTQB foundation level (beneficial, preferred)
Expert knowledge of the VeriClaim system (beneficial)
Knowledge of the Private Medical Aid industry (beneficial)
Knowledge of test case design, test planning and defect tracking
Familiar with defect tracking tool JIRA
Basic knowledge of SQL for database testing (beneficial)
Experience in performing functional, regression, integration and system testing Proficient in Microsoft office: Excel, Word and Power Point
