About the Role
Hire Resolve’s Client in the Consumer Goods Industry is seeking a talented and experienced Legal Counsel to join our team in Umhlanga. The Legal Counsel will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and support in the areas of Capital Projects and Procurement within the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to capital projects and procurement activities.
- Advise on legal aspects of tender processes, bids, and supplier contracts.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with capital projects and procurement.
- Provide legal support for project planning, execution, and completion.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (including project managers, procurement teams, and business leaders) to ensure legal compliance and mitigate risks.
- Manage and resolve legal disputes related to capital projects and procurement.
- Stay updated on changes in relevant laws and regulations that may impact capital projects and procurement activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Law; Admitted Attorney.
- Minimum of 5 -7 years of post-qualification experience, with a focus on commercial contracts, capital projects, and procurement.
- Strong knowledge of South African laws and regulations related to construction, capital projects, and procurement.
- Experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Prior experience working in the agribusiness industry or related sectors is a plus.
