About the Role
As a Merchandiser at Riseup Management, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the visual appeal and organization of our stores. You will be responsible for ensuring that products are merchandised according to store and company standards, while also supporting the day-to-day operations of the store.
Key Responsibilities
- Merchandise products according to store and company standards
- Maintain well-organized and visually appealing product displays
- Ensure shelves are fully stocked and correctly labelled
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages to supervisors
- Rotate stock to ensure freshness, especially in Perishable and Fruit & Veg departments.
- Assist with warehouse receiving, including checking deliveries and unpacking stock
- Ensure correct stock placement on the shop floor
- Conduct stock checks and report any discrepancies
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in merchandising areas
- Support store operations during busy periods.
Requirements
- 2–3 years’ experience as a Merchandiser in the Retail sector
- Experience working in the following departments:
- Perishable
- Fruit & Vegetables
- Warehouse Receiving
- Floor Merchandising
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Good understanding of merchandising and stock rotation (FIFO)
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
- Physically fit and able to lift stock when required.
