Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Merchandise products according to store and company standards
- Maintain well-organized and visually appealing product displays
- Ensure shelves are fully stocked and correctly labelled
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages to supervisors
- Rotate stock to ensure freshness, especially in Perishable and Fruit & Veg departments.
- Assist with warehouse receiving, including checking deliveries and unpacking stock
- Ensure correct stock placement on the shop floor
- Conduct stock checks and report any discrepancies
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in merchandising areas
- Support store operations during busy periods.
Minimum Requirements
- 2–3 years’ experience as a Merchandiser in the Retail sector
- Experience working in the following departments:
- Perishable
- Fruit & Vegetables
- Warehouse Receiving
- Floor Merchandising
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Good understanding of merchandising and stock rotation (FIFO)
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
- Physically fit and able to lift stock when required.
