About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Mid-Level Developer to join our team in Durban. As a key member of our front-end development team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality web applications that meet our clients’ needs. With 5 years of experience as a Front-end Developer, you have developed a strong understanding of responsive web design and mobile-first approaches to development.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage projects from PSD files using PHP (Laravel, CakePHP, Yii) and front-end templating
- Write clean, maintainable code in CSS/CSS3, HTML 5, and JavaScript/JQuery
- Build new WordPress sites/systems from scratch, including themes and plugins
- Use Sass/Less for styling and optimizing website performance
- Implement responsive designs that adapt to various devices and screen sizes
- Collaborate with designers to bring PSD files to life
Requirements
- Excellent understanding of front-end development principles
- Strong experience with Subversion (Git) and database administration (MySQL)
- Familiarity with CSS/CSS3, HTML 5, JavaScript/JQuery, and PHP (Laravel, CakePHP, Yii)
- Experience using Adobe Photoshop for designing responsive templates
- Understanding of SEO and UX best practices
Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma in Computer Science or related field
- 5+ years of experience as a Front-end Developer
