About the Role
A leading accounting and auditing firm in East London is seeking an experienced Accounting Professional to manage client accounting records, prepare financial statements, calculate tax obligations, complete statutory returns, and supervise junior staff. The role offers exposure to a diverse client base including sole proprietors, trusts, CCs, partnerships, small business corporations, farmers, and Body Corporates.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and reconcile accounting records
- Prepare annual financial statements and working papers
- Calculate taxes for individuals and businesses
- Complete statutory returns (PAYE, UIF, SDL, VAT, Workmans Compensation)
- Supervise and train junior/intermediate accountants
- Liaise directly with clients and assist with payroll
Requirements
- BCom degree or equivalent work experience (completed articles advantageous)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of Caseware, Vanilla Payroll, Pastel, or Xero is a plus
- Strong communication skills; English essential, Afrikaans/Xhosa advantageous
