About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and hands-on Farm Assistant Manager to support daily operations on a hydroponic farm. This role is ideal for a practical, physically fit individual with strong leadership ability and a passion for agriculture.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with plants in a hydroponic environment
- Supervise and coordinate labour activities alongside the Head Grower
- Ensure consistent quality of work from the labour team
- Oversee crop work and general farm operations
- Monitor and report on labour performance vs budget weekly
- Manage timekeeping and handle basic disciplinary matters
- Assist with problem-solving and operational challenges
- Ensure equipment is functioning effectively and report maintenance needs
- Maintain a neat, efficient, and productive farm environment
- Follow and communicate instructions clearly (verbal and written)
- Perform duties independently, with good judgement and adaptability
Requirements
- Diploma in Agriculture (preferred)
- Matric with good basic maths skills (essential)
- Valid driver’s licence (essential)
