About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Quality Controller to join our manufacturing team in Ekurhuleni. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality control, implementing processes that drive continuous improvement, and supporting the growth and development of our production staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and test incoming raw materials and bulk products against specifications
- Perform laboratory analyses (e.g., physical, chemical, and microbiological checks)
- Verify batch consistency (e.g., colour, viscosity, pH, microbial status)
- Maintain accurate records for traceability and compliance
- Approve or reject materials and products based on quality standards
- Investigate quality issues and support corrective and preventive actions
- Maintain retention samples and manage customer quality queries/complaints
- Ensure calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Develop and deliver quality control training for production staff
- Implement and maintain SOPs, GMP, and Good Documentation Practices
- Conduct internal and external audits and monitor compliance
- Track and analyze quality metrics (KPIs) to drive improvement
Requirements
- Diploma in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Food Technology, Cosmetic Science, or related field
- 510 years experience in quality control within manufacturing
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 systems
- Skills in root cause analysis and statistical process control (SPC)
