Job Description

A 5* luxury boutique property with 15 rooms, restaurant and spa, seeks an experienced Head Chef meeting the following specifications:- Tertiary qualification Minimum 3 years experience as Head Chef in 4 or 5 * lodges or boutique hotel operations with 15 to 20 rooms (NOT LARGE CITY HOTELS) Creative with regards to a la carte menu selector planning (selection of 6 Starters; 6 Main Courses and 6 Desserts) which changes regularly Experienced in dealing with pressure in an a la carte environment, handling upto 60 covers per night, as restaurant is open to non residents as well Good knowledge of contemporary country-style cuisine, using seasonal products Ability to do Tailored events, themed dine-and-wine evenings, chefs table, private functions and bespoke weddings Passionate about Food and must want to transfer knowledge and skills to develop a dedicated and enthusiastic team who love cooking ie good training and mentoring skills Only candidates with a stable track record will be considered Own vehicle and Drivers licence essential Interviews and cook off take place at hotel which is in Cape Winelands An UPDATED & detailed CV in MS Word format (starting with current position) is required, as well as a Recent head & shoulders photo, taken in the last 6 months.
