About the Role
Union electrical, an electrical wholesaler based in Germiston, is seeking an experienced Creditors Clerk to join their accounting team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices and credit notes, as well as maintaining compliant financial records.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately and promptly process supplier invoices and credit notes, matching them with purchase orders, contracts, or other supporting documents.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of creditor accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
- Prepare payment batches for approval and ensure timely payments are made, including claiming applicable discounts.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records, filing paid invoices and related documents.
- Communicate with suppliers regarding outstanding invoices, queries, and statement reconciliations.
- Ensure all transactions comply with company policies, financial regulations, and tax requirements (e.g., VAT).
- Provide general bookkeeping and clerical support to the finance department.
Requirements
- High school diploma required; tertiary qualification in accounting advantageous.
- At least 5 years of related experience in accounts payable or as a creditors clerk compulsory.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Sage Evolution accounting software beneficial.
