About the Role

The Creditors Manager role at Bidvest Protea Coin is a critical position that oversees the entire creditors process, ensuring timely and accurate payments to suppliers. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the creditors department, advising on changes to processes, and maintaining compliance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end creditors process (invoice receipt to payment)
  • Ensure timely and accurate capturing of supplier invoices
  • Monitor payment cycles and ensure adherence to agreed terms, review and approve payments
  • Responsible for the overall operation of the creditors department
  • Manage and maintain the vendor Masterfile
  • Review and approve forex P&L journals
  • Support, motivate, deploy, and train a team of 20 staff
  • Handle escalated queries and disputes
  • Manage internal and external audit requests in accounts payable and prepare audit schedules
  • Keep abreast of changes in relevant ACT and Standards (IFRS, VAT, POPI Act)
  • Work hand in hand with Procurement in respect of trade vendor vetting
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers
  • Balance sheet recons for all account payable related accrual accounts
  • Monitor repayments of SED loans
  • Prepare daily and weekly cashflow forecasts and actuals
  • Check and issue requisitions in line with approval matrix
  • Group reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis

Requirements

  • Completed B. Com degree or diploma in accounting/finance is essential
  • Minimum 5 years’ accounts payable experience
  • MS Office and above average Excel skills essential
  • SAP B1 experience
  • Excellent English written & verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and customer service orientation
  • Deadline-driven and able to work efficiently under pressure
  • Clean disciplinary, criminal, and credit record
