About the Role

Our client, Staff Solutions, is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join their team in the Eastern Cape region. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation and maintenance of engineering quality assurance systems and standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and coordinating in-house electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and systems procedures, standards, and specifications
  • Maintaining engineering-aligned quality assurance records and documentation using systems such as Shopware
  • Ensuring original machine manufacturing data is available and adhered to in all engineering practices
  • Ensuring manufacturing processes consistently meet customer quality requirements
  • Coordinating and supporting internal and external site audits
  • Evaluating audit findings and implementing corrective actions to ensure compliance with QA standards

Engineering Systems & Support

  • Reviewing the implementation and performance of quality and inspection systems
  • Evaluating the accuracy and reliability of engineering QA standards
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance machine performance and product quality
  • Managing and maintaining engineering document management systems
  • Preparing and presenting technical and management reports
  • Managing the Facilities Team, consisting of a handyman, assistants, a plumber, HVAC technicians, and an electrician
  • Overseeing daily and unplanned maintenance tasks, monitoring compliance requirements, and coordinating external technical support when required

Compliance

  • Ensuring adherence to company procedures, controls, and governance standards
  • Identifying and reporting risks and potential areas of concern to management
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and internal procedures
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and records to support compliance and audit requirements
  • Supporting initiatives to reduce wasteful, irregular, or unnecessary expenditure

Cost & Financial Control

  • Contributing to the engineering budget preparation process
  • Promoting the efficient and transparent use of financial and operational resources
  • Monitoring and controlling expenditure against approved budgets
  • Reporting any deviations to the Engineering Maintenance Manager
  • Identifying opportunities to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency

Customer Service

  • Building and maintaining effective working relationships with stakeholders
  • Representing the organisation in meetings with relevant internal and external stakeholders
  • Resolving technical and operational challenges through creative problem-solving
  • Ensuring service delivery aligns with company values and quality standards

Minimum Requirements

### Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related field (NQF 6)

Advantageous:

  • Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related field (NQF 7)

### Experience

Up to 5 years’ experience in Quality Engineering within a manufacturing environment

Technical Competencies

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Computer literacy in MS Office Suite and relevant engineering software systems
  • Knowledge of quality management systems
  • Understanding of engineering maintenance systems
  • Experience with engineering documentation and quality reporting
