Job Summary
Minimum Requirements:
- Qualification: BEng or BSc in Mechanical Engineering (or similar technical field).
- Experience:
- 8–10 years in engineering (mechanical or structural design).
- At least 3–5 years in a senior or lead engineering role.
- Proven experience in equipment design, manufacturing, and service environments.
- Previous involvement in the mining industry (crushing, processing, or materials handling preferred).
Technical Skills:
- Strong foundation in mechanical and structural engineering principles.
- Proficient in CAD software; experience in 3D modelling and drafting.
- FEA (Finite Element Analysis) skills advantageous.
- Experience with document/data management systems.
- Commercial awareness and ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities and innovative mindset.
- Knowledge of relevant industry and safety standards.
Leadership & Management:
- Proven ability to lead and mentor multi-disciplinary teams.
- Effective planning, resourcing, and performance management.
- Able to manage multiple design projects from concept through to release.
- Conducting technical reviews, risk assessments, and DFMEAs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead design and development of crushing systems and components.
- Oversee engineering documentation including BOMs, IPCs, and maintenance manuals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams: manufacturing, supply chain, field service, and sales.
- Support field operations, resolve technical issues, and assist with commissioning of equipment.
- Maintain engineering standards, ensure compliance with ISO, ASME, CE, and other applicable regulations.
- Drive value engineering, cost-reduction, and energy-efficient design initiatives.
- Manage departmental budget and monitor design costs.
