Duties:
Financial Reporting & Close:
- Deliver accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Prepare consolidated reporting packs, management reports, and analytical commentary.
- Ensure compliance with Group accounting policies and IFRS standards.
- Prepare technical accounting papers and review non-routine transactions.
- Review and approve journal entries and financial postings.
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and lead balance sheet review meetings.
- Manage intercompany accounting processes and ensure alignment across entities.
- Support statutory reporting, year-end processes, and external audit requirements.
- Project manage interim and year-end reporting cycles.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Planning:
- Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Collaborate with Finance Managers on financial planning activities.
Process Improvement & Automation:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within record-to-report processes.
- Enhance reporting efficiency, strengthen controls, and reduce operational costs.
- Support optimisation and effective use of financial systems and reporting tools.
- Promote standardisation and adoption of Group reporting processes.
Compliance, Risk & Internal Controls:
- Review and strengthen financial controls to mitigate risk and safeguard assets.
- Maintain documentation aligned with UK Corporate Governance requirements.
- Support internal and external audit processes.
- Implement and monitor corrective actions arising from audit findings.
- Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations.
- Support bond, listing, and corporate governance compliance requirements.
- Prepare King V and UK Corporate Governance gap analyses and reporting.
- Benchmark and review policies and audit committee charters.
- Maintain and update the Group risk register.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build collaborative relationships across finance teams, operational leadership, and external stakeholders.
- Support cross-functional alignment across multiple regions and business units.
Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Professional accounting qualification (CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Strong academic foundation in Accounting or Finance.
Experience:
- 5–10 years’ post-qualification experience in financial reporting or a similar role.
- Proven experience in IFRS reporting environments.
- Exposure to mining or natural resources industry advantageous.
- Experience working with ERP and financial consolidation systems.
- Experience supporting audits and complex reporting cycles in multi-entity structures.
