About the Role
The Head of Maintenance and Support will be responsible for ensuring profitable and timely delivery of maintenance and support obligations to clients, in accordance with various service level agreements. This role requires strong technical management skills, excellent communication, and leadership abilities to drive business growth and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure profitable and timely delivery of maintenance and support obligations to clients according to service level agreements.
- Liaise with EM/EI Engineering Team and other technical resources on the execution of maintenance and support demand management, auditing, scheduling, and value addition to clients through system integrity assurance.
- Identify opportunities for upgrades and client system additions that ensure client-side integrity and EM/EI sustainability.
- Perform day-to-day management of the Customer Support technical team, including task assignment, leave approval, and performance management.
- Interface with engineering teams and managers to allocate and organize resources for efficient and effective SLA execution and value addition to clients through deployment of new services, opportunities, upgrades, and hardware.
- Mentor Maintenance and Services technical staff.
- Engage with projects and engineering staff to build and reinforce the company culture of embracing diversity, operational excellence, and teamwork.
- Operate the Maintenance and Services Department, including task assignment, leave approvals, mentoring, etc.
- Provide financial governance/oversight of all EM/EI maintenance and services undertakings to ensure maximum profitability for the business unit.
- Participate in the negotiation of new and renewal SLA’s and contracts to ensure maximum profitability and sustainability.
- Maintain customer relations with all SLA clients.
- Ensure quality assurance and control, focusing on conformance to customer expectations.
- Establish, organize, and implement short- and long-term goals, objectives, policies, and operation procedures.
- Manage risks, including technical, contractual, financial, Health & Safety, and schedule risks, as well as effective change management.
- Communicate efficiently with all stakeholders, particularly customers.
Requirements
- Matric Certificate
- BSc Engineering degree or similar
- Recognized training required by the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, Act 85 of 1993
