Job Description
- Develop accurate 2D drawings and 3D models of mechanical components, assemblies, and systems.
- Prepare detailed fabrication drawings, general arrangement drawings, and piping layouts.
- Update and revise existing engineering drawings to reflect modifications, upgrades, and site changes.
- Participate in design reviews and ensure all drawings comply with engineering standards, codes, and project requirements.
- Work closely with Mechanical Engineers, Project Managers, and other stakeholders to support project deliverables.
- Maintain drawing registers, revision control, and documentation according to established procedures.
- Conduct site measurements, inspections, and data collection to support design development.
- Identify opportunities for design improvements, cost-saving, and enhancing engineering efficiency.
- Ensure all work aligns with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Minimum Requirements
- National Diploma, N6, or relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or Design.
- Minimum 2–5 years’ experience as a Mechanical Draughtsperson in industrial, mining, processing, or manufacturing environments.
- Experience in draughting/modelling
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar 3D modelling tools.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, fabrication processes, and engineering documentation standards.
- Creo Parametric, AutoCAD 2D/3D Recap
- Experience with piping layouts, mechanical assemblies, and structural interfaces is advantageous.
