Job Summary
Employer Description Our client offers turnkey solutions to the renewable energy sector including wind, gas and solar. Job Description You will be responsible for preforming overall planning of the projects electrical design activities, including the management of External Engineering services contracts, the engineering section of any EPC contracts and/or any needs related to engineering activities: Perform overall planning and monitoring of the implementation plan for electrical scope. Perform an overall risk assessment of the project with possible mitigation actions. Manage the tender of suppliers and subcontractors. Manage the electrical budget. Manage the electrical quality processes on site and at suppliers. Do site visits on a regular basis. Prepare the clients reports. Interface with the client, do contractual letters. ESKOM interfacing. Manage the Grid Code/ RETEC processes. Qualifications BEng/BSc Electrical Engineering or similar Skills 3 years demonstrated experience in renewable industry, solar or wind Basic knowledge of renewable market operation and common applications of utility scale renewable projects in the South Africa Basic knowledge of the South African grid connection process including its major requirements Basic knowledge of the Development Approval process Previous experience in Battery Energy Storage Systems development will be considered a plus Previous experience in grid connection management dealing with RETEC, Eskom and OEM`s will be considered a plus Previous experience business case comparison integrated with financial consideration will be considered a strong plus Previous experience in the legal frame work of renewable energy projects considered a plus Knowledge of relevant technology standards SANS, IEC, etc) Knowledge of CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) is a plus
