About the Role
Transport learners safely to and from school according to scheduled routes, maintaining a calm and professional demeanour while dealing with learners and parents. As a School Bus Driver, you will be responsible for ensuring the roadworthiness of the vehicle, keeping accurate records of trips and attendance, and upholding strict safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport learners safely to and from school according to scheduled routes
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus
- Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the vehicle
- Uphold strict safety protocols, including ensuring all learners are seated and secure before departure
- Keep accurate records of trips, attendance, fuel usage, and incidents
- Immediately report any mechanical issues, delays, or safety concerns
Requirements
- Valid South African Drivers Licence (Code 10/C1 or Code 14 preferred)
- Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP)
- Minimum 25 years driving experience, preferably transporting passengers
- Clear criminal record
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations
- Ability to communicate effectively with learners, parents, and staff
