About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team in Germiston. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for providing financial management and reporting services to support the growth and success of our retail company.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare management reports (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and notes and supplementary reports)
- Prepare monthly pre-flash data
- Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Analyse GL accounts and ensure correct allocations
- Prepare and review journals and schedules
- Prepare budget and forecasting models
- Complete quarterly and year-end reporting packs
- Collate BBBEE data
- Review and authorise payments in line with company policies and approval frameworks
- Prepare detailed monthly accruals with clear supporting schedules
- Perform variance analysis
- Operational Finance Support
- Review expenses and support cost control initiatives
- Investigate anomalies in stock counts and financial variances
- Good in transit tracking and follow up
- Provide branch training
- Assist branches with finance queries and reconciliations, ensuring controls are in place for all aspects including stock, petty cash and ESG
- Key role in budgets, forecasts
- Build relevant financial models
- Support cost-saving and efficiency improvement initiatives
- Inventory, Risk & Governance; Data analytics
- Inventory analysis and stock control

Requirements
- BCom / BCompt (CA(SA) preferable)
- 3–5 years’ relevant experience
- Audit experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
