About the Role
An established company in Germiston is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Debtors Administrator / Junior Credit Controller to join their finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for debtor administration, collections, reconciliations, credit control support, and resolving customer account queries while ensuring all records and processes remain accurate and up to date.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the Credit Department
- Allocate daily unallocated deposits and follow up with business units
- Process customer refunds in line with company policies
- Resolve internal and external customer invoice queries
- Process credit applications and credit limit increase requests
- Conduct credit checks and verify supporting documentation
- Open customer accounts on the ERP system following approval
- Update and communicate daily credit alerts
- Ensure PODs are loaded and maintained on the system
- Follow up on credit balances and overdue accounts
- Collect outstanding debtor payments timeously
- Reconcile customer accounts accurately and resolve discrepancies
- Reconcile accounts against third-party records
- Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Perform additional duties related to the role as required
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years experience within a Debtors or Credit Control environment
- Good understanding of credit management principles and basic accounting
- Strong reconciliation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience working on accounting or ERP systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Qualifications
- Diploma in Credit Management will be advantageous
Salary & Benefits
- R16 000 – R22 000 CTC per month (depending on qualifications and experience)
