About the Role
Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced and highly organised Front of House (FOH) Manager for a luxury private game reserve based in Grahamstown. This live-in position is ideal for a hospitality professional who thrives in a dynamic bush environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee all reception operations and guest check-in/check-out processes
• Manage safari shop sales, stock control, and guest retail experience
• Coordinate all reception logistics, including guest movement and transport arrangements
• Ensure smooth daily operational flow across front-of-house functions
• Liaise closely with lodge teams to ensure seamless guest experiences
• Assist with coordinating safari schedules and guest activities
• Step in as relief support at lodges when required, including shift coverage
• Maintain high standards of guest service and hospitality delivery
• Handle guest queries, requests, and concerns professionally and efficiently
• Support overall operational efficiency across front-of-house areas
Requirements
Previous experience in FOH, reception, or hospitality management essential. Experience within a lodge or safari environment highly advantageous. Strong organisational and logistical coordination skills. Experience handling guest relations in a luxury setting preferred. Confident working across multiple operational areas simultaneously. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Flexible and willing to work shifts, including lodge relief duties.
