About the Role

The Hendrina Plant Foreman will oversee the daily operations of heavy machinery and equipment, ensuring smooth maintenance and optimal performance. A minimum of 6 years’ experience in the Roads industry is required, with a strong focus on Caterpillar, Komatsu, Wirtgen, Bomag, Hamm, Vogele Paver equipment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating equipment maintenance, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with OHS and MHS regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate the maintenance of equipment and machinery to ensure smooth operations
Supervise and train staff, creating teams and managing work schedules
Conduct and amend risk assessments, delivering toolbox talks/briefings as required
Ensure all works are carried out in line with approved method statements
Oversee work to anticipate, detect, and address factors that impede operations

Requirements

Minimum Grade 12 or N4 Mechanical Engineering
Must have red seal Mechanic trade certificate – red seal Earthmoving Mechanic trade certificate would be advantageous
First Line Supervisor Certificate and Plant Conditioning Monitoring Certificate will be advantageous
A minimum of 6 years’ experience in the Roads industry, with specific focus on Caterpillar, Komatsu, Wirtgen, Bomag, Hamm, Vogele Paver equipment

Qualifications

Completed Grade 12 or N4 Mechanical Engineering qualification
Red seal Mechanic trade certificate (optional)
First Line Supervisor Certificate and Plant Conditioning Monitoring Certificate (optional)
