About the Role
The Hendrina Plant Foreman will oversee the daily operations of heavy machinery and equipment, ensuring smooth maintenance and optimal performance. A minimum of 6 years’ experience in the Roads industry is required, with a strong focus on Caterpillar, Komatsu, Wirtgen, Bomag, Hamm, Vogele Paver equipment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating equipment maintenance, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with OHS and MHS regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the maintenance of equipment and machinery to ensure smooth operations
- Supervise and train staff, creating teams and managing work schedules
- Conduct and amend risk assessments, delivering toolbox talks/briefings as required
- Ensure all works are carried out in line with approved method statements
- Oversee work to anticipate, detect, and address factors that impede operations
Requirements
- Minimum Grade 12 or N4 Mechanical Engineering
- Must have red seal Mechanic trade certificate – red seal Earthmoving Mechanic trade certificate would be advantageous
- First Line Supervisor Certificate and Plant Conditioning Monitoring Certificate will be advantageous
- A minimum of 6 years’ experience in the Roads industry, with specific focus on Caterpillar, Komatsu, Wirtgen, Bomag, Hamm, Vogele Paver equipment
Qualifications
- Completed Grade 12 or N4 Mechanical Engineering qualification
- Red seal Mechanic trade certificate (optional)
- First Line Supervisor Certificate and Plant Conditioning Monitoring Certificate (optional)
