About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Chef de Partie to join our team in Hermanus. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for cooking and excellent leadership skills to manage a specific section of the kitchen with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a specific section (Larder, Veg, Grille, Pastry, Pass) with minimal supervision
- Prepare high-quality dishes under pressure
- Lead a team of kitchen staff and provide guidance and support as needed
- Maintain food safety, hygiene, and stock management standards
- Work independently and as part of a team to achieve kitchen goals
Requirements
- Former culinary qualification
- At least 5 years of professional kitchen experience or relevant experience in a professional kitchen environment
- Previous experience as a Chef de Partie, preferably in lodge hotel fine dining environment
- Strong knowledge of food preparation and techniques
- Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
