About the Role

Our client, operating within a fast-paced operational environment, is seeking to appoint a Procurement Supervisor to oversee procurement administration, supplier coordination, and team support functions. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong leadership ability who can ensure procurement efficiency, compliance, and financial control, while supporting continuous improvement within the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Procurement Department
  • Oversee procurement documentation (orders, invoices, credit notes, transport records)
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of documents to Finance
  • Manage supplier queries, returns, credits, and disputes
  • Handle pricing issues and quality claims
  • Escalate unresolved matters where necessary
  • Supervise and support procurement clerks
  • Resolve operational challenges and ensure workflow continuity
  • Provide guidance and maintain team performance standards
  • Participate in procurement, forecasting, and production meetings
  • Follow up on action items and ensure execution
  • Ensure adherence to procurement procedures and audit requirements
  • Maintain compliance with Health and Safety standards
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Coordinate stock counts and pallet reconciliations
  • Ensure accuracy of inventory-related records
  • Maintain organised procurement records and systems
  • Support development and implementation of procurement policies
  • Assist with product trials and continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Tertiary qualification in Procurement / Supply Chain / Related Field
  • Minimum 34 years experience in procurement or supply chain
  • Previous supervisory or coordination experience
