A well-established 4* Hotel in Plettenberg Bay is seeking an energetic and experienced Sales Manager to drive revenue growth and strengthen trade relationships. With a current business mix of approximately 40% Tour Operator Group Business and 30% OTA I FIT bookings , the hotel is entering an exciting phase of growth following recent renovations. We are now focused on expanding high-quality tour operator partnerships and growing FIT travel agent business, while maintaining strong occupancy and yield. This role is ideal for a proactive hospitality sales professional who enjoys building relationships , travelling to meet clients , and representing a premium product. Duties: Trade & Tour Operator Sales: Maintain and grow relationships with local and international Tour Operators and Travel Agents Proactively target higher-end group series and tour operator business aligned with the hotel's upgraded positioning Conduct regular sales calls, presentations and trade visits Represent the hotel at trade shows, workshops and industry events Host site inspections, fam trips and educational visits FIT & Travel Agent Business Development: Expand the hotel’s FIT travel agent network Build strong relationships with retail travel agents and boutique travel planners Promote seasonal offers, packages and promotions to the trade Identify new distribution opportunities in key international markets Revenue & Strategy: Work closely with the General Manager on sales strategy and revenue targets Monitor production from tour operators, travel agents and OTA channels Ensure optimal rate positioning across key distribution channels Assist with contracting, rate negotiations and seasonal offers Sales Administration & Reporting: Maintain accurate CRM and trade databases Track and report on sales activity and production Prepare monthly sales reports and performance analysis Coordinate with reservations and marketing teams to support campaigns and promotions Requirements: Minimum 3–5 years sales experience in hospitality or tourism Strong understanding of tour operators, travel agents and OTA distribution channels Proven track record in hotel sales or tourism business development Energetic, proactive and results-driven Well-presented and confident in professional environments Comfortable delivering sales presentations to groups Willing and able to travel for sales calls and trade events Fluent in English and Afrikaans Dutch or German will be advantageous Own reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills Excellent communication and organizational abilities On Offer: Competitive salary R25,000 – R30,000 per month Commission-based incentives A dynamic hospitality environment with strong growth potential
