About the Role
We are seeking an experienced IT Operations Engineer to join our Johannesburg-based technical support team, providing strong exposure to infrastructure, cloud services, and IT operations within a structured service management environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle and resolve technical requests using an approved service management platform.
- Provide user assistance both in person and remotely across the business.
- Respond quickly to service interruptions and urgent technical issues, ensuring clear communication throughout resolution.
- Assist with the upkeep of user devices, servers, connectivity, and hosted platforms.
- Support cloud-based services, user access management, and productivity tools.
- Apply basic security controls and escalate risks where required.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 1 to 3 years’ experience in IT support, IT operations, or infrastructure focused roles.
- Experience working with service tickets and supporting business critical systems.
- Exposure to environments where uptime and response speed are important.
- Solid understanding of core IT concepts and infrastructure components.
- Experience with Windows environments and Microsoft productivity platforms.
- Working knowledge of directory services and user access management.
- Basic networking knowledge, including name resolution and connectivity concepts.
- Exposure to cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft-based services.
- Understanding of backup processes and system recovery principles.
