About the Role
As an Assistant Club Manager at Virgin Active South Africa Pty Ltd, you will play a crucial role in inspiring people to live active lives. Your responsibilities will include managing all aspects of operational and financial performance, ensuring brand standards are met, and providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Management: Ensure control over income and expenses against budget, manage according to company standards to reduce risk.
- Facility Management: Manage operations, health and safety, and ensure procedures are followed according to standards.
- People Management: Recruit, develop, and train staff, ensuring all information is communicated effectively to club staff.
- Customer Experience: Implement and sustain a strong member focus, providing solutions to members’ queries and complaints in line with company policy.
- Competitor Analysis: Understand how to mitigate competitor risk by conducting regular analysis of the competitor landscape.
Requirements
- Matric or equivalent (NQF level 4)
- Previous managerial experience at Club General Manager level with a successful track record, coupled with strong leadership skills.
- Or, must have been the 2IC to a Club General Manager.
- Must have successfully completed the internal Learn to Fly programme.
- Financially proficient and having a good financial acumen.
- Business owner approach.
- Solid understanding of the market, with good insight into competition.
