The Senior BI Analytics Specialist is responsible for delivering enterprise-level business intelligence solutions that drive strategic decision-making. This role focuses on advanced data modelling, dashboard development, and analytical reporting across large-scale data warehouse environments.

The successful candidate will work with complex enterprise datasets, transform data into meaningful insights, and partner with business stakeholdersparticularly within banking or financial services environmentsto support performance, risk, and operational reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Business Intelligence & Reporting

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise Power BI dashboards and analytical reports.
  

• Build robust semantic data models to support scalable reporting solutions.
  

• Apply DAX calculations and performance optimisation techniques to enhance reporting efficiency.
  

• Ensure visualisation best practices are followed to improve usability and business clarity.
  

Data Modelling & Warehousing

• Develop and maintain dimensional data models (fact and dimension tables).
  

• Work extensively with star schema and enterprise data warehouse structures.
  

• Validate data accuracy and ensure alignment with business definitions and KPIs.
  

• Collaborate with data engineering teams to optimise data pipelines.
  

SQL & Database Management

• Write complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and validation.
  

• Perform query optimisation and performance tuning on large datasets.
  

• Conduct data quality checks and reconciliation to ensure reporting integrity.
  

• Work with relational databases and support PL/SQL development where required.
  

Stakeholder & Business Engagement

• Translate complex technical data into clear, actionable business insights.
  

• Support finance, risk, and operational teams with performance analytics.
  

• Provide analytical input into strategic business initiatives.
  

• Present findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  

Governance & Controls

• Ensure compliance with data governance, audit, and regulatory standards.
  

• Maintain documentation for data models, reports, and transformation logic.
  

• Implement controls to safeguard data accuracy and reporting consistency.
  

Requirements

Required Skills & Experience

Mandatory

• 510+ years of experience in Business Intelligence / Data Analytics roles.
  

• Strong expertise in Power BI (data modelling, DAX, visualisation best practices).
  

• Advanced SQL skills (complex query writing, performance tuning, data validation).
  

• Proven experience working with Data Warehouses and large enterprise datasets.
  

• Strong understanding of data modelling concepts (facts, dimensions, star schema).
  

• Demonstrated ability to translate complex datasets into clear business insights.
  

Preferred / Advantageous

• Experience with Azure Data Platform (Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse).
  

• Exposure to Banking / BFSI domain, finance, or risk reporting environments.
  

• Knowledge of ETL tools and data integration processes.
  

• Experience with PL/SQL or other enterprise database technologies.
  

• Familiarity with data governance frameworks, controls, and audit standards.
