Johannesburg: Corrosion Supervisor

Job Purpose The Corrosion Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all industrial painting and abrasive blasting activities on-site. The role ensures that corrosion protection processes are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations. Key Responsibilities Supervise and manage daily industrial painting and blasting operations. Ensure all surface preparation and coating applications meet required standards and specifications. Monitor adherence to safety procedures, especially for high-risk activities such as working at heights and confined spaces. Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and enforce site safety compliance. Review and implement Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments (HIRA). Ensure all team members are properly trained, certified, and equipped for tasks. Coordinate with project management and other site supervisors to meet project deadlines. Inspect completed work to ensure quality control and compliance with industry standards. Maintain accurate records of work progress, incidents, and inspections. Enforce legal liability and SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) requirements on-site. Minimum Requirements Proven experience as a Corrosion Supervisor within the construction or industrial environment. Strong knowledge of industrial painting and abrasive blasting techniques. Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and drawings. Good leadership and team management skills. Strong understanding of safety regulations and compliance requirements.
