Job Summary:
Our company is seeking a talented and experienced Design Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg. The Design Engineer will be responsible for developing detailed designs and plans for bulk water and sewer infrastructure projects in the Johannesburg area. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.

Key Responsibilities:
– Develop detailed designs and plans for bulk water and sewer infrastructure projects in Johannesburg.
– Conduct site visits and surveys to gather information needed for design work.
– Work closely with project managers, stakeholders, and other team members to ensure designs meet project requirements and deadlines.
– Perform calculations and analysis to ensure designs are structurally sound and meet all necessary regulations and standards.
– Prepare drawings, specifications, and other documentation needed for project bids, permits, and construction.
– Review and approve project plans and designs created by junior engineers.

Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
– Minimum of 5 years of experience in design engineering, with a focus on bulk water and sewer infrastructure.
– Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
– Strong knowledge of engineering principles, standards, and regulations related to water and sewer infrastructure.
– Proficiency in AutoCAD and other design software.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
– Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
