About the Role
As an Exercise Experience Manager at Virgin Active South Africa Pty Ltd, you will play a pivotal role in building dynamic, inclusive communities where our members feel inspired and supported to achieve their wellness goals. You will be the guide, ensuring every member finds the right products, services, and fitness tribes that suit them perfectly. Key Responsibilities
- Recruitment, Onboarding & Retention: Scout, attract, and recruit talented Fitness and Group Exercise Instructors to fit right into our vibrant community.
- Team Management & Development: Develop and nurture an all-star squad of Fitness and Group Exercise Instructors, aligning with club FTE and budget needs.
- Community Building & Instructor Support: Foster a sense of belonging among Group Exercise Instructors through strong communication in one-on-one chats, newsletters, or team meetings.
- Delivering Exceptional Group Exercise Experiences: Lead by example, stepping into the studio and delivering unforgettable group exercise experiences that keep members coming back for more.
- Group Exercise Focus: Manage the group exercise timetable to deliver high-energy, engaging classes that leave a lasting impact.
- Member Social Wellness: Offer comprehensive inductions that set the stage for success, showcasing everything the club has to offer.
- Operational Excellence: Ensure every group exercise space is not only functional but inspiring, with cleanliness, top-tier equipment, and flawless sound systems.
- Marketing & Community Building: Execute in-club marketing campaigns, leveraging business tools and resources to promote Group Exercise and Personal Training.
- Data Analysis & Performance Tracking: Monitor and analyze class attendance and engagement, identifying trends and opportunities to optimize our offerings.
Requirements
- Matric qualification
- A Recognized Fitness Qualification
- Minimum of 5 years experience within the Fitness Industry
- Minimum of 3 years experience in managing exercise experiences within a health club or similar role
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in managing people / teams
- Exceptional people leadership skills
- Experience in teaching a variety of Group Exercise classes
