Job Description

We are seeking an accomplished engineering professional to lead the South Africa Mining Division and drive operational excellence, commercial growth, and strategic alignment with Komatsus regional and global objectives. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Business Planning Formulate and execute the Mining Divisions strategic plan in alignment with KAfH and KLTD strategic growth priorities Translate divisional strategy into operational plans, performance measures, and business objectives Define and manage the mediumterm CapEx plan Operational & Financial Management Prepare, implement, and monitor divisional budgets and business plans Oversee the planning, monitoring, and control of divisional financial and operational resources Lead the implementation of processes and procedures to ensure achievement of operational objectives Monitor divisional performance using defined metrics Technical & Customer Engagement Provide expert technical leadership, particularly within the earthmoving maintenance environment Establish and maintain strong customer relationships Liaise with global affiliates to ensure alignment with Komatsu standards and international best practice People Leadership Build and lead a high-performance division aligned with Komatsus values and culture Create a safe, efficient, and productive working environment Identify talent needs and development opportunities while driving employee growth and maintaining professional discipline Risk, Contractor & Supplier Management Manage contractor and supplier relationships to ensure optimal service delivery Oversee division-level risk management, including safety, health, and environmental compliance Minimum Requirements Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, electrical or Mining) (NQF level 8) Masters in business management (MBA) or equivalent (advantageous) Government Certificate of Competenc: (GCC Mines & Works) or Mine Managers Certificate of Competency (MMCC) (advantageous) Registered Engineer with ECSA Valid drivers license Medical certificate of fitness Knowledge & Experience Minimum 15 years experience in the earthmoving equipment manufacturing or mining industry At least 5 years at strategic management level Customer and marketing orientation Strong understanding of the Mine Health and Safety Act and the Occupational Health and Safety Act SAP proficiency Knowledge of asset management best practices
