About the Role
The General Manager (GM) is responsible for the day-to-day management of a luxury, boutique hotel in Johannesburg, with a focus on good guest relations, visibility, and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Guest Experience and Relations (Primary Focus)
- Oversee daily hotel operations, with a strong focus on Rooms Division
- Management of outsourced Food & Beverage and Conferencing providers
- Lead and support the management team, fostering a positive, service-driven environment.
- Manage operational budgets, and revenue performance
- Ensure maintenance and property standards are maintained
Requirements
- Proven experience in a boutique hotel environment
- Strong guest relations and front-of-house presence is essential
- Hands-on leadership style with a willingness to be operationally involved
- People management experience
- Familiarity with Opera Hotel Management System (PMS)
