About the Role

The General Manager (GM) is responsible for the day-to-day management of a luxury, boutique hotel in Johannesburg, with a focus on good guest relations, visibility, and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guest Experience and Relations (Primary Focus)
  • Oversee daily hotel operations, with a strong focus on Rooms Division
  • Management of outsourced Food & Beverage and Conferencing providers
  • Lead and support the management team, fostering a positive, service-driven environment.
  • Manage operational budgets, and revenue performance
  • Ensure maintenance and property standards are maintained

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a boutique hotel environment
  • Strong guest relations and front-of-house presence is essential
  • Hands-on leadership style with a willingness to be operationally involved
  • People management experience
  • Familiarity with Opera Hotel Management System (PMS)
