About the Role
We are seeking an energetic and curious Junior Marketer to join our growing team in Johannesburg. As a key member of our marketing team, you will be responsible for bringing our brand to life through creative and innovative marketing campaigns, events, and content creation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with Marketing Campaigns: Help plan, execute, and monitor marketing campaigns across digital, social media, and traditional channels.
- Content Creation: Create marketing materials such as social media posts, ad copy, brochures, newsletters, and presentations.
- Market Research: Conduct research into customer trends, behaviors, and competitor activity to inform marketing strategies.
- Event Coordination: Assist in planning and executing community events, sponsorships, and promotional activities.
- Data Analysis: Analyze campaign performance and customer data to provide insights and report on results.
- Brand Support: Help maintain brand consistency across all marketing materials and channels.
- Administrative Support: Complete administrative tasks related to marketing projects, including scheduling, reporting, and coordination with internal teams or external vendors.
- Client Liaison: Work closely with clients to understand their event requirements, preferences, and budget. Develop customized event proposals and ensure all client expectations are met or exceeded.
- Event Planning: Oversee the entire event process from concept to execution, including setting objectives, timelines, and action plans.
- Venue and Supplier Coordination: Research, select, and negotiate with venues and suppliers (such as caterers, decorators, and technical support). Manage all logistics, including setup, décor, and audiovisual needs.
- Budget Management: Prepare and manage event budgets, track expenses, and ensure events are delivered within financial constraints.
- Team and Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise event staff and volunteers. Delegate tasks and provide clear briefings to ensure smooth operations.
- Marketing and Promotion: Collaborate with marketing teams to promote events through various channels, reach out to potential sponsors, and manage advertising efforts.
- On-Site Coordination: Oversee all event operations on the day, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the event runs smoothly.
- Legal and Compliance: Ensure all events comply with legal, health, safety, insurance, and risk management requirements.
- Post-Event Evaluation: Conduct post-event analysis, gather feedback, and prepare reports to assess success and identify areas for improvement.
Requirements
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation, and customer service abilities.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), basic knowledge of content management systems (CMS), familiarity with social media platforms, event management software and digital marketing tools for planning and communication.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret marketing data and provide insights.
- Creativity: A creative mindset with an interest in brand storytelling and innovative marketing ideas.
- Organizational and Project Management Skills: Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines, ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
