About the Role
The Private Banker role is within the High Net Worth (HNW) Team at Rory Mackie & Associates. This position requires sourcing and acquiring new HNW clients, articulating and selling our Value Proposition, and understanding the financial positions of these individuals to identify opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Sourcing new business through cold calling, extracting value from an existing client base, networking, and referrals
- Meeting specified budget and targets per activity
- Delivering a quality CRM service to existing clients
- Presentation of products and services to clients
- Providing financial advice to clients on:
- Lending products: including Residential, Commercial Property, Secured loans
- Local and international banking requirements
- Treasury and forex
- Being a connector and an enabler for the clients’ needs into other divisions.
Requirements
- Relevant Tertiary Degree (Preferably BCom Honours or LLB with Accounting)
- Min 5 6 years financial services experience in Private Banking as a minimum
- In-depth knowledge of credit and deal structuring
- Ability to network within the organisation (wealth and investment as well as the specialist bank functions in South Africa)
- Engaging and interacting with international geographies of our clients, as networking and connecting clients is critical for this role
- Experience in wealth management and structured property finance will be advantageous
- Awareness and management of compliance and regulatory frameworks in all dealings with clients
- People skills, with a specific passion for socializing and networking
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and within a team environment
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
- Good marketing and cross-selling skills
- Experience in compiling credit packs to present to credit committees
