Job Description
The PM is responsible for coordinating, developing, updating, and validating the Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP).
Responsibilities:
DR Plan Development and Updates
- Consolidate and update DR Plan using existing DR Plans
- Proficient in Azure DevOps
- DR Testing Risk Notes
- Crown Jewel systems and revised RTO/RPOs
- Infrastructure and network DR gaps identified across the organisation.
- Ensure the DR Plan covers: Business continuity requirements.
- Data protection requirements.
- Governance, roles, and escalation structures.
- OT considerations where separate or integrated. (Per DR and DR Testing Policy requirements)
- Ensure all DR documentation (technical recovery plans, dependencies, upstream/downstream systems) is accurate and complete.
DR Governance and Coordination
- Establish and maintain a governance structure aligned to the proposed three-tier DR governance model (Strategic, Tactical, Operational).
- Coordinate with: IT leadership (CIO, Strategy and Planning, SIAM, Architecture).
- Business continuity and risk teams.
- Vendor partners especially for network and infrastructure components.
- Assist in the preparation for and facilitation of: DR SteerCo sessions.
- Working sessions on DR principles and standards.
DR Testing Planning and Execution
- Define and manage the DR testing scope using DR Test Plan Template.
- Coordinate: Business owners for test timing, approvals, and expected downtime.
- Technical teams for failover and failback procedures.
- Ensure validation of RTO achievement.
- RPO achievement.
- Previous test issues are not repeated.
- Capture results to update: DRP.
- Technical Recovery Plans (TRPs).
- CMDB CI relationships.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
- Maintain consistent communication to leadership
- Provide weekly progress updates: Risks, issues, and decisions required.
- Vendor delays.
- Status on testing, documentation, dependencies.
- Drive alignment on DR strategic principles with ITLT and relevant platforms.
Documentation, Storage and Compliance
- Ensure DR Plan and TRPs are stored in the approved repository (SharePoint / Teams).
- Validate compliance with the DR and Testing Policy. Ensure proper revision control.
- Facilitate acceptance and signoff processes.
Mandatory Deliverables
- Updated and approved DR Plan (PDF/Word).
- Updated Technical Recovery Plans for all in-scope systems.
- DR Testing Schedule and Go/No-Go documentation.
- DR Test Results Report (per cycle).
- Updated Crown Jewel application RTO/RPO mapping.
- DR Governance Framework (Roles, RACI, escalation matrix).
