About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Bookkeeper & Financial Assistant to join our team in Somerset West. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, as well as providing support to our Financial Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Capture and maintain accurate financial records up to trial balance
- Process accounts payable and receivable
- Perform bank reconciliations and cash up
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Monitor and maintain accurate stock records
- Perform regular stock reconciliations and variance analysis
- Coordinate stock takes and investigate discrepancies
- Work closely with operations to ensure stock accuracy and control
- Provide day-to-day support to the Financial Manager
- Prepare schedules and reports for audits or reviews
- Handle ad hoc financial and administrative tasks
- Ensure compliance with internal processes and controls
Requirements
- Must reside in Somerset West, Strand, or Gordon’s Bay
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a bookkeeping or similar finance role
- Minimum qualification: Financial certificate or equivalent
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial processes
- Experience with Pastel and Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
