About the Role
The Toolroom Manager will be responsible for leading, managing, and developing a high-performing team to drive optimal performance and productivity in the toolroom. The successful candidate will oversee the design, maintenance, and repair of tooling, dies, jigs, and fixtures, while implementing preventative maintenance systems to minimize downtime. This role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge, and problem-solving skills to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and develop the toolroom team to ensure optimal performance and productivity
- Oversee the design, maintenance, and repair of tooling, dies, jigs, and fixtures
- Implement and maintain preventative maintenance systems to minimize downtime
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness
- Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and quality departments
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards
- Manage budgets, resources, and toolroom inventory effectively
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Toolroom Manager within the steel or heavy manufacturing sector
- Demonstrated career stability with a strong, consistent employment record
- Solid leadership and people management experience
- Strong technical knowledge of tooling, machining processes, and equipment
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight production deadlines
