About the Role
The Toolroom Manager will be responsible for leading, managing, and developing the toolroom team to ensure optimal performance and productivity in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role requires strong technical knowledge of tooling, machining processes, and equipment, as well as excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and develop the toolroom team to ensure optimal performance and productivity
- Oversee the design, maintenance, and repair of tooling, dies, jigs, and fixtures
- Implement and maintain preventative maintenance systems to minimize downtime
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness
- Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and quality departments
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards
- Manage budgets, resources, and toolroom inventory effectively
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Toolroom Manager within the steel or heavy manufacturing sector
- Demonstrated career stability with a strong, consistent employment record
- Solid leadership and people management experience
- Strong technical knowledge of tooling, machining processes, and equipment
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight production deadlines
Qualifications
- Relevant technical qualification (Trade Test / Diploma / Degree preferred)
