About the Role

Hire Resolve, a leading recruitment agency, is currently seeking a Junior Health & Safety Officer to join an IT company based in Roodepoort, Gauteng. As a Junior Health & Safety Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and implementing effective safety management systems in the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the implementation of health and safety systems across all sites
  • Perform inspections and spot checks of fire fighting and detection equipment
  • Support the development and implementation of health and safety management systems
  • Identify and evaluate risks and develop safe work procedures
  • Record and investigate accidents, provide guidance, and ensure proper reporting
  • Provide feedback in safety meetings and follow up on health and safety inspections
  • Conduct audits and inspections on contractors
  • Provide informal health and safety training to employees
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety statutory requirements
  • Responsible for site induction programs for employees, contractors, and visitors

Requirements

  • Relevant qualification in health and safety (advantageous)
  • Minimum 3 years of general health and safety experience
  • Experience in an FMCG environment (recommended)
  • Computer literacy (MS Office Suite)
  • Good knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines
