Johannesburg: Trainee IT Security Technician

About the Role: We are seeking a young, dynamic, and Afrikaans-speaking individual with a passion for IT security to join our team as a Trainee IT Security Technician. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual who has gained some work experience in IT and is eager to build a career in cybersecurity. Key Responsibilities: Assist in monitoring, identifying, and responding to cybersecurity threats. Support the implementation and maintenance of security protocols, firewalls, and other protective measures. Conduct vulnerability assessments and assist in risk mitigation efforts. Provide technical support related to security solutions and best practices. Assist in compliance and security audits to ensure adherence to company and industry standards. Stay up to date with the latest security threats, trends, and technologies. Work closely with senior security engineers and IT teams to enhance cybersecurity measures. Qualifications & Skills: Passion for IT security and cybersecurity. Afrikaans-speaking (fluent in written and spoken communication). Some prior work experience in IT support, networking, or cybersecurity is beneficial. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, threats, and best practices. Ability to work well in a team and under pressure. Eagerness to learn and develop in the cybersecurity field.
