About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Unit Manager to lead our Critical Care Unit in Johannesburg. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for planning, monitoring, and coordinating unit operations to ensure high-quality patient care. Your expertise in critical care nursing will enable you to make informed decisions and drive positive change within the unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct ward rounds to ensure compliance with protocols, security, safe patient environment, policies, procedures, and Group’s patient care standards.
- Inform and educate patients about the Group’s complaints procedure and The Voice patient experience platform.
- Implement, monitor, and control service delivery processes according to quality standards, policy, compliance, and governance requirements.
- Ensure alignment and implementation of end-to-end standard operating procedures/processes in line with hospital policies.
- Build professional long-term relationships with internal stakeholders (Doctors, Nurses, Hospital Administrators).
- Work with internal key leaders to build an escalation chain for internal crises (patient care and unit ops-related).
Requirements
- 3 years of managerial/supervisory experience in critical care nursing.
- Experience within a private hospital environment is advantageous.
Qualifications
- BLS Nursing Administration or relevant qualification.
- Current registration as Registered Nurse with the South African Nursing Council.
- Updated ACLS/PALS/ATLS advantageous.
