Johannesburg West: Senior Accountant posted by Network Finance

Our client is a respected construction firm known for executing complex civil engineering contracts from bulk earthworks and industrial developments to roads and runway construction. With multiple projects underway nationwide, the Senior Accountant will play a central role in financial oversight, performance measurement and finance team leadership.

This role offers strategic influence, exposure to diverse financial challenges and a platform to make a real impact within a growth-focused organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead month-end accounting processes and financial reporting
• Ensure accurate project costing and revenue recognition
• Prepare variance analysis and performance commentary for senior leadership
• Manage compliance, audit queries and statutory requirements
• Drive improvements to financial systems and controls
• Mentor junior accounting staff and contribute to team development

Job Experience & Skills Required:

• BCom in Finance or related + CIMA or equivalent
• 5+ years’ relevant experience preferably within construction or project-based industries
• Strong financial modelling, reporting and analytical skills
• Proven ability to manage complex accounting functions and drive process improvements
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership capabilities
• ERP and accounting software proficiency
