Job Summary

Are you a skilled Blasting Professional looking to take your expertise to the next level in a high-impact mining environment? A leading company in the mining and explosives sector is seeking an experienced Blaster to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated individual to play a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant blasting operations, while working closely with cross-functional teams and valued clients. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in mining and blasting operations, a strong understanding of SHERQ protocols, and the confidence to lead and supervise in-field activities with precision. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and execute blasting activities in line with legal, statutory and safety standards Draw correct accessories for each blast and ensure proper pre-blast inspections Supervise priming, pumping, stemming and timing activities Approve and declare blast area safe post-detonation Oversee reporting and administrative tasks after each blast Supervise blasting assistants and ensure compliance with operational procedures Enforce and escalate disciplinary actions when needed Allocate and manage housekeeping duties within the blasting team Key Requirements: Grade 12 with Maths Valid Blasting Ticket and PDP Magazine Master certificate Minimum 2 years’ experience in blasting/assistance Minimum 3 years’ experience in mining or explosive environment Strong interpersonal and communication skills Proficient in physical fieldwork and safety analysis Willingness to travel extensively and work irregular hours MS Office proficiency (advantageous) EE Disclaimer: All positions will be filled in accordance with the company’s Employment Equity plan.
